Baby Girl’s Mod Nursery Plans!

Baby Girl’s Mod Nursery Plans!

YAY! I’m soooo excited to finally be showing you our nursery plans! We’ve been planning this for months and this weekend finished painting and even put together the crib! It’s still nowhere near finished (and just barely started), but we wanted to show you our overall design. So just plan on a lot of exclamation points in this post, ok? I’m seriously so excited I can’t help it!

Right off the bat, we knew we wanted the baby’s room to have a midcentury look with an emphasis on white and wood, just like our vision for the whole house. We want the room to feel serene, but lighthearted, appropriate for a baby girl without screaming “BABY.” I happened to see the Chasing Paper “Sunburst” wallpaper on Pinterest and knew immediately that we HAD TO HAVE IT. It comes in a bunch of amazing colors, so we ordered some samples and decided that, even though the brighter colors were fun, the grey and white combo was our favorite. We love that it’s neutral and can easily evolve over the years as a baby girl grows up, and that it has a really awesome mod vibe that’s so fun and unique. This paper looks great mixed with dark woods, gold/brass/copper and blush pink, so that’s what we’re going to do!!

The plan is to wallpaper one accent wall, paint the rest of the walls white (Sherwin Williams “Snowbound” like we’ve used throughout the house), and when I stumbled upon Valspar’s “Champagne Pink,” which is the absolute perfect soft blush pink (and the perfect name for us!), we knew we HAD TO HAVE IT. So we’re using it on … the ceiling! Oh, it looks so good, you guys! I can’t wait to show you more (there will definitely be sneak peeks on Instagram, so follow along at @burritosbubbly!). For furniture, we’re using a combo of new and old in mostly white and dark woods, and keeping the rest of the decor pretty simple and minimal.

Here is our overall vision, with a few things that we already bought (the wallpaper, crib, rocking chair, light fixture and cat dish — which was actually our first nursery purchase), a few things on our wish list, and some things just for inspiration…. Let us know what you think!!!
