House Tour, One Year In: The Nursery
The nursery is my favorite room ever. I know a lot of that is sentimental, since it’s my baby girl’s room, but it’s also just so super adorable! We shared all the final photos of this room back in April, and we have made no changes since then. However, I realized we never shared before-and-after photos, and that’s one of the most fun parts!
When we moved in, we actually planned on using a different room as the nursery. Our house has two smaller bedrooms across from the master bedroom. The two bedrooms are the essentially the same size, though this one has an additional window and a larger closet. We originally thought we’d use this room, which is at the end of the hall, as an office/guest room and the other, first bedroom, as a nursery, but for a lot of reasons we changed our minds, which I’m so happy about.
This room really wasn’t bad to start with, with a pale minty green paint color that I actually could have lived with… but what’s the fun in that?!
We painted the walls and trim Sherwin Williams “Snowbound,” the ceiling Valspar “Champagne Pink,” added removable wallpaper from Chasing Paper on one wall, and replaced the light fixture with a brass one from Sazerac Stitches. (See the original nursery reveal for the full list of sources!)
We purposefully kept the whole room neutral and minimal, so Joey can grow into it and make it her own. We also wanted it to fit in with the rest of our house.
Ah, I just love this room!
