Flush-Mount Lighting (That’s Cute!)
One of our first projects for the new house is to replace the lighting. As in, every single light in the house needs to eventually be replaced. What’s there now is fine but not our style … dark finishes, some ceiling fans that are too big and too low, and plenty of boob lights. Oh, the boob light. I bet every house in America either currently has or at some point has had one, and I understand why: it’s so hard to find a flush-mount light fixture that’s affordable and doesn’t look like, well, you know…
Since I’ve spent hours days weeks looking at lights online, I thought I’d show you some of the flush-mount lights that I’ve found that I think are cute and that are also mostly under $100 (with a couple exceptions because, ahhh, they’re so pretty!).
1. Bell Flush Mount, CB2, $59.95 | 2. Mid Century Modern Flush Mount Sputnik, Lucent Lighting on Etsy, $199 | 3. Drum Flush Mount, CB2, $69.95 | 4. Schoolhouse Ceiling Light, Lamps Plus, $49.99 | 5. Vega Flush Mount, CB2, $249 | 6. Scalloped White Metal Flush Mount, Pottery Barn Kids, $103 (on sale)
We’re definitely going to be investing in a few #1s and #3s for the new house. Both are from CB2 and both are under $70! I like that they’re simple and unobtrusive, and the drum light holds two lightbulbs, which is great.
They’re pricier and I don’t think we need either in our house, but I love love love the midcentury styling of #2 and #5 for making a big impact. Sometimes you want that chandelier feeling but don’t have high enough ceilings for something that hangs down.
What do you think? Do you have a favorite? Do you have boob lights in your house? (I’m not judging! Seriously, I’m sure almost everyone does.)
