Help for a boring entry

Help for a boring entry

Our entryway is a huge waste of space.  It’s probably the biggest, most open room in the whole house, with  a large staircase and gorgeous stained glass windows. But we use it for nothing but piles … piles of mail, piles of things to take upstairs, piles of furniture we don’t know what to do with. With bare beige walls and piles of junk, it’s just blah blah boring.

I think the entry should set the tone for the whole house. When we have visitors, they should walk in and immediately think, “Oh, OK, this house is fun, happy and kinda silly. I want to see more and hang out here.” But now all our entry says is, “I’m bored. Let’s leave.”

We need a makeover.

I LOVE this one. Love love. It’s the same vibe we’re going for: bright, colorful, cheerful, put together but quirky. I like the mix of the green Asian-inspired cabinet and the orange mid-century chairs. And that wallpaper is fantastic.

I’ve been busy over the last few weeks making some entryway plans of my own and putting them in motion. Expect more information soon, but here’s a hint: black, white, yellow, and a rhinoceros named Jacques. Yep. That’s all I’ll say for now. Stay tuned!!
