Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries

Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries

Can you believe next week is the first day of summer? We’re also just a couple weeks away from the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, which just happens to be the same time that we’ll be in town to work on the cabin’s kitchen! Even though we’re obviously going to be super busy — you know, building a kitchen from scratch by ourselves and all — we’ll have to take a break or two to check out the festivities! Because I love a good theme, I couldn’t help but search high and low for all of the most adorable cherry things I could find and share my findings with you!

I’ve always had a soft spot for cherries, inspired somewhat by my fond childhood memories of visiting the Traverse City area, which is the largest producer of tart cherries in the US — cherries are everywhere up there. But I also love their retro style, and cherries are so cheery! I actually used to collect cherry-themed things, including this dress that I wore on our Cancun vacation last year. (How was that last year?! It seems like five years ago!)

If you love cherries like I do, or just want to add a little bit of retro cheer to your summer, here are a bunch of adorably cheery cherry options…

Sources: Toddler cherry rash guard set, Target (Joey has this and it’s so so cute)| Cherry straw tote bag, Nordstrom | Cherry embroidered tank, Madewell (on sale!) |Toddler cherry sandals, H&M (Joey also has these) | Tom Ford Lost Cherry, Nordstrom | Cherry beach speaker, Burke Decor | Cherry sun hat, Unique Vintage | Cherry Mimosa Conserve, Cherry Republic (I am obsessed with this stuff, so yummy!) | Cherry tea towels, Urban Outfitters | Cherry pool float, Amazon | Cherry sunglasses, Etsy | Cherry cooler bag, H&M

(Above: My cherry dress is literally decades old but this cherry dress is very similar, and how cute is Andy’s flamingo shirt, too? It’s by Vans but I can’t find it online anymore.)

If you’re going to be near Traverse City, see you at Cherry Fest! (Or maybe I’ll just be crying over boxes of Ikea cabinets, we’ll see… eek!)
