Room of the week: Orla Kiely retro library

Room of the week: Orla Kiely retro library

Holy. Moly. This room is amazing. Forget old fashioned, dark, wood-lined libraries, I’m all about this little retro nook with wallpaper in a classic Orla Kiely pattern. I’d love to curl up in this squishy chair to read a book and just soak in the really great design. When there’s this much pattern on the walls, it’s nice to keep the rest of the furnishings and stylings simple, so the clean lines and solid colors of the chair, side table and lamp are exactly what’s needed to give the eye somewhere to rest. The rest of this bohemian apartment by New York architecture and design firm Incorporated is pretty darn awesome, with lots of unexpected moments like a turquoise piano and even a playhouse in the middle of the apartment (wow!). Ugh, can you imagine growing up in such a creative, colorful, excellently designed home? Check out the rest of the apartment here
